Sagebrush ecosystem in the U.S
The sagebrush ecosystem extends across 19 ecoregions of the western U.S., but is concentrated in the Columbia Plateau, Great Basin, and Wyoming Basins Ecoregions. The majority (52%) of sagebrush is on lands managed by the USDI Bureau of Land Management, but private lands also support a substantial percentage (28%). The USDA Forest Service manages about 8% of all sagebrush.
