Style for Figures & Tables
- Tables and figures should have a descriptive title and a reference of the original source. If tables and figures are reproduced from a source protected by copyright agreements, authors need to obtain permission from the publisher. Getting permissions is the authors responsibility before submitting the contribution for publication.
- Figures and Tables will require that authors fill in the following meta-data items about the figure/table:
- title
- author/contributor
- copyright
- description
- permission of use
- Figures
- Figures should be created in some form of graphics editor (e.g., Photo Editor, Adobe Illustrator, Photo Shop).
- Figures should be in .png, .jpg, .gif format.
- Figures should be no larger than 640 x 480 pixels. The resolution should be a maximum of 72 dpi.
- Go to your workspace. Click on "Select" and select "Image" from the drop-down menu that appears. Then, click "add new item" on the right. You will be taken to the image editor. Enter the appropriate information in the fields provided. Click on "Save."
- Tables
- Tables should be created in Word or Excel.
- Create a table in you workspace.
- Go to your workspace. Click on "Select" and select "Table" from the drop-down menu that appears. Then, click "add new item" on the right. You will be taken to the table editor. Enter the appropriate information in the fields provided. Authors can cut-and-paste tables tables directly from Word or FrontPage. Click on "Save and View."
